Sparkle Challenge - Day Fifteen

Today I Am Wearing - my Marks & Spencer bag for life with pride :-)

Last year Mr ETM bought me this epic bag - some girls get Chanel, Chloe....I get M&S - and you know what, I couldn't have been happier!  I love whipping this bag out as I go and do my weekly food shops in December.  At first glance it may look like an ordinary red and green festive bag, but oh no my friend, it is much more than that...............................

It lights up and flashes ---- how amazeballs is that!!!

Today I Am Feeling - Green Around the Gills!!

Still not feeling great today, hence the no face photos today!! I'm all about the nails so far this week! 

Tomorrow is the Girls Christmas Party that I've organised so I am determined to be back to my sparkly best by then.  Mr ETM has bought me a plethora of remedies, in fact as I write this I'm feeling decidely perkier - but I think that might just be the lemsip talking!

It is my gorgeous Godson Finlay's 1st birthday today so we are going out for a Sunday birthday lunch to celebrate.  Finlay is a boy after my own heart, and is something of a little magpie himself - he loves to look and play with shiny sparkly things, so I thought I would wear my silk silver top in honour of him today.

Dressed like this you'd think I was going for a night on the town, but in actual fact I was having a quiet night in infront of the telly.  Sometimes I like to get dressed up and do my own dance routines along to Strictly Come Dancing!! (Hey, each to their own!!)

Loose fitting - just what I need after sausage chips, mushy peas and gravy for tea last night!  It's short sleeved, not practical for today's 2 degrees, so I've popped a long sleeved top (and a vest!) underneath - I'm shunning the wow factor for the warmth factor :-)

Sparkle Challenge - Day Seven

Today I Am Wearing - spots and stars!

At first glance you may be thinking, where is the glitter and sparkle today?  Fear not I haven't thrown the towel in, I've just gone for a more discreet take on the challenge today with a few sparkly accents instead.

This is one of my favourite and most comfy hairbands; girls I'm sure you feel my pain when I say there's nothing worse than a hairband headache!

This is the favourite part of my outfit today - star spangled nails :-)

I've painted a maroon colour (topshop - "paint it on") then over the top I applied a clear polish with fleckles of stars.  I love them - they keep catching in the light as I type and making me smile.

And before you all think "she must be a geordie girl to be wearing a vest top in December" - don't panic I can confirm that I shall be putting a jacket and coat over the top! Actually make that jacket, coat, gloves and scarf.... it's just started to snow! 

Sparkle Challenge - Day Four

December 4th
Today I am Wearing - glittery nails

My lovely friend Fiona gave me a silver sparkly nail polish and a black glitter eyeliner to help me out with the Sparkle Challenge.  So I had a go at doing something a little different with my nails today.....

Apply 2 coats of black polish.  Make sure this is dry completely before the next step.   

Take a piece of tape and put it on your nail at a diagonal angle. It’s easiest to tape all of your nails at once so are not messing around with tape with wet nail polish.

Apply the silver sparkly polish as if you are painting your whole nail – just the one coat is enough. Let the paint dry for about 5 minutes and then remove the tape slowly. 

Then finally apply a top coat and Ta-Da! black and silver nails :-) What do you think?

Sparkle Challenge - Day Two

December 2nd
Today I Am Wearing - a sequin jacket, glitter nails and a bling-tastic bracelet

This is one of my favourite pieces from my ecclectic wardrobe.  I wore this over a dress for my now sister-in-law Victoria's wedding in December 2009 - it was a magical, romantic, snow filled day.

The groom the morning of the wedding - gathering his thoughts for the most important day of his life (so far!)



December 19th 2009 - A Very Special Day

You can't go wrong with a sequin jacket; throw over a tshirt and jeans for a laid back glam look (this jacket is from Topshop).

Seeing as it's Friday I thought I'd go one step further and sport a selection of sparkly accessories -

Ordinarily I wouldn't be sporting so much "bling" in the office, but now that the Christmas Period has officially arrived I am all about excessorising - more is most definitely more!

 This gecko bracelet was a little find by Mr ETM in a spanish market on holiday this summer. 

I love a bit of co-ordination - I try to always theme my outfits round a colour scheme.  I wanted to pick up the iridiescent shades of the jacket with a lilac and glittery nail varnish.
