The No Make Up Look

A pick of my favourite fresh faced celeb makeup looks.....

Emma Stone at the 2011 Golden Globes -  defined eyebrows, a sweep of black eyeliner, nude lips and a peach blush = beautiful

Mila Kunis at the 2011 Golden Globes - the eyes have it.  Black liner discreetly applied around and below the upper and lower lashes and plenty of mascara (and maybe the odd false eyelash) is all it takes to create this sexy, sophisticated look

Candice Swanepoel - Victoria Secret Shoot.  Candice has the LA look nailed here, clear complexion, nude lips, manicured eyebrows - simple but effective

All American Girl Jennifer Aniston.  This look is all about the skin tone and complexion - so smooth and flawless (she definitely cleanses, tones and moisturises religiously)  Hard to believe our favourite friend is 42 ... keep doing what you're doing Jen - it's working!!!

Olivia Palermo - Upper East Fashionista.  Everything about this girl screams luxurious - the shinetastic hair, the skin, the light tan: just perfect (girl crush alert)

Rachel Bilson is rocking an all natural, surfer girl look.  The freckles and beachy waves are perfect for the "no make up - make up" look

Fearne Cotton, showing us that sometimes all it takes is a flick of black eyeliner - job done

Talk about all of a glow.  Blake Lively looks simply stunning here - but then again wouldn't you look this happy and glowing if you were dating Leonardo DiCaprio!  This is the perfect post holiday make up look for those first few days when your skin is all sun kissed and all you need is a peachy pink lipgloss and lashings of mascara.

Anyone for a burger?

Love & Sunshine

Make hay while the sunshine's people!  We have approximately 48 hours left to don our flip flops and maxi dresses before the sun really does disappear until next year, so lets enjoy every minute.

Get out into the fresh air - go for a picnic, take the children to the park, get together in a beer garden, stock up on bread rolls and burgers and whack the barbie on - whatever you decide to do this weekend go out there and do it with love and happiness in your heart.

Here are some images that inspire me when the
sun comes out to play....

Shabby Chic

I urge all my Made-Ons that love all things shabby chic / rustic / beachy / french to check out the fabulous Sandy's blog - paintmewhite.com

Sandy upcycles old furniture and describes herself as a treasure hunter.  Her blog is filled with beautiful pieces of quaint and quirky furniture - it is a haven for home decor ideas.

A few examples of Sandy's handywork
How dreamy is this bedroom? - I want pom pom's above my bed!!

so simple but so effective, love it

j'adore this lamp - this is home decor with personality!

technology meets rustic and what a lovely pairing they make (love the curtains on the cupboards, a brilliant way of hiding dvds etc)

One Love Organics - Beauty From The Heart

I am currently in love with the One Love Organics skincare range.  They are gentle organic products suitable for all skin types, from babies to grandmas!

company manifesto
"we declare that love is the greatest, most powerful force on earth"

What makes this range different (other than the beautiful simplistic packaging - which FYI looks amaazin on your bathroom shelf) is that all the products are waterless.  Most beauty products are upto 85% water.  The prescence of water in skincare products require the use of preservatives to prevent the cream spoiling.  This range contains no preservatives, emulsifiers or fillers - which can only be a good thing for our precious skin.   A further benefit of the omission of water means that One Love products are highly concentrated, so you need to use far less than you would with a standard cream, meaning these lovely jars will last and last compared with many other lines.

There are just six products in the line, helping to simplify your skin care routine and avoid having a bathroom cabinet filled with lotions and potions that you have no clue what they're actually for or what they do!

  • Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser
  • Brand New Day Microderma Scrub & Masque
  • Skin Saviour Multi Balm
  • Love Springs Eternal Youth Preservation Serum
  • My New Best Friend Skin Shammy
  • Beauty Wisdom Silver Scoop
In my opinon the must have product from the collection is the Skin Saviour Multi Balm - it is truly multi functional and be used as a
  • makeup remover
  • moisturiser
  • lip balm
  • hair tamer / finishing serum
  • mix with your foundation to give skin a moisturising glow

Follow One Love Organic's blog to learn more about their products and pick up some insightful skin care tips. http://oneloveorganics.com/blog/

Sadly the brand is currently only available in the US :-(  So I will have to wait for someone to go on holiday to America before I can get my next skin fix! (come on ASOS and Space NK get on board and launch this brand over here please!)

Green With Envy

How gosh darn gorgeous is this TopShop playsuit! If you look closely you will see the print is made up of poodles, rabbits and cats - "such fun" (courtesy of Miranda's mum - FYI Miranda is officially theee best comedy programme EVER).  I love the neck tie detail on it as well, so cute and flirty.

I'm currently going through a bit of an obsession with the colour green at the moment, I don't know what it is about green, but it just makes me feel confident and happy.  And as long as it continues to make me feel that way, I shall continue to wear it with pride - be it on my blouse, necklace or nails.

Topshop - £50 (topshop.com)
Wear With: black opaque tights, black block heels, a few thin gold bracelets, red or rouge noir nails, and bedhead hair (or if you have long hair, a messy side ponytail tied with a black ribbon).

My Current Style Crush

I am just love, love, lovin Kourtney Kardashian's dress sense at the moment.  Her wardrobe must look like a rainbow - she is never afraid of colour, sporting cobalt blue, peach and flourescent yellow in abundence.

Like myself she appears to have a penchant for a blouse, and boy does she have a gorgeous collection of them.  Her looks often have a cheeky, girly feel about them.

Kourtney clearly has a keen eye for style and is rarely seen without a Balenciaga or Chanel bag and a pair of Louboutins on her feet.

Oh to play dress up in her walk in wardrobe!

Here are a few of my favourite Kourtney looks

Well Jel.....

Model of the moment Cara Delevigne (sister of the equally gorgeous Poppy) was recently asked how she spent the summer.  Her answer "I went to Ibiza for my birthday in August and stayed with Mario Testino.  We went clubbing!  He's amazing, like a surrogate father he's kind of adopted me."
I would totally love to holiday with the legend that is Mr Testino!!!

Check out Cara's portfolio on the Storm Models website, this girl has got it going on!
